What to bring to a bike fit
What do you need to bring to a bike fitting appointment?
We ask every Cardiff Bike Fit client to bring the items in the list below to each bike fitting appointment. Remember that you will be riding your bike on our live dynamic jig during your appointment and as we want to recreate your true riding position, you may work up a sweat.
The kit you normally ride in
Our bike fitters will be assessing your body as well as your bike. Good bike fitters want to see how your body moves and responds to changes in your setup so we ask that you avoid baggy tops/shorts and wear snug cycling kit. Avoid anything too warm as you’ll be pedalling indoors in our studio.Your usual shoe, cleat, and pedal setup
Remember to bring your normal cycling shoes with your cleats and corresponding pedals. If you’d like to discuss changing your shoes or pedal system, mention this to your bike fitter as soon as possible. Please make sure your shoes are clean enough to handle and have no dried mud around the tread/cleats.Any insoles or orthotics you use
If you are already using insoles/orthotics or other bike fitting accessories such as cleat wedges or leg length shims, please bring these with you.Your bike
Don’t forget to bring your bike to your bike fitting appointment. Remember that as we make changes during the session, your bike becomes the ‘master copy’ of your new setup. If you’re planning to take your bike abroad in a bike box, be sure to note down the measurements before you take it apart!A drink
As we will be recreating your true riding position, you’ll be getting a little workout during your session. Bring a drink to stay hydrated; we’ll happily refill this for you during the session.A small towel
If you’re a rider who sweats a lot, you may like to bring a small towel for your comfort and to protect your bike.
